grab your make-up bag and make yourself comfortable....

perfect lips

RED is definitely the sexiest
colour for lips. oh no..! i hear you scream...don't panic, here's the ultimate guide to choosing and using red lippy..

a step-by-step guide to the perfect pout ....

red lipstick comes in 100's of different shades. this makes life very difficult because only one or two shades will suit one individual. the best guide is if you have brown, hazel or green eyes you will suit WARM reds. if you have blue or grey eyes, you will suit COOL reds, although this may vary depending on you skin colour.

Cool
Warm

so how do you know which is which? warm reds have more orangy or rust tones, whilst cool reds have more blue in them, like a fuscia pink or a purple-red (see the table above).

always try to test the lipstick on your lips, ask the assistant for a tester and then just run a cotton-bud over the lipstick to apply.

when you have selected your lipstick, follow the steps below:

1. always clean your teeth and moisturise your lips before you start applying your lipstick. i use Carmex or Blistex.

2 when you apply your powder to seal your foundation, puff a little over your lips.

3 draw a steady outline with your lip pencil to give yourself an even lip shape.

4 fill-in your lips using the same pencil, this creates a very strong base for your lipstick.

5 apply your lipstick in the manner you are used to, either from the tube or with a lip-brush.

6 blot you lips firmly with a tissue. separate the tissue into single-ply and press your powder-puff against your lips through the tissue. re-apply lipstick and blot lightly again.

7 finally, put you index finger between your lips as if you were sucking a lolly and you will remove any lipstick which would have ended up on your teeth!
